How many of us have sent a text or instant message, only to be asked, “what are you talking about?”
I received a message from a friend telling me she had leftovers from Saturday for dinner, the message read I had cow, strange I thought or very clever, as I knew she had had coq au van. I asked her about this magic trick, auto correct she answered.
Mmmm I thought, how much fun can we have with auto correct? I’d like you to send me 5 random words that I can auto correct and write a story around.
I’m looking foward to your suggestions.
Sorry for the delay in announcing the winner of the Party Time competition, but some good news for two of my readers, because of the fantastic response Kia decided to pick out not ONE but TWO winners.
So without further ado……………….. drum roll please.
MORAG and SHARON from central Scotland.
We shall let you know how their parties go.
If you’d like Sarah. The Storyteller to entertain your parties guests, just drop us a line.
We had a beautiful sunny day for the grand opening of the new children’s play park in the village. The local children had drawn pictures that were attached to balloons, which were then released as the ribbon was cut. The blue sky was awash with colour as the balloons soared up and away. I wonder how far they will travel? Let me know if you see them.
There was a big painted rock at the entrance to the park. So much work had been put into this event.
I’m sure the cats will watch over the children at play.
Balloon modelers on stilts and caricature artists were just two of the activities keeping us all amused. What do you all think of my portrait, not very flattering, but it did raise a few smiles as the artist worked.
We then left Villar Pellice to go up to the fayre in the next village, Bobbio Pellice. The cows, goats and sheep are going into the mountains for the summer. The local artisans were out showing their wares, stone paintings and wood carvings, home produce like salami, cheeses, honey and wines.
I came to a small village in the Alps for the quiet life, I have never been so busy.
You should all come and visit.
Yet another exciting week. Today Kia turned 5, she is getting to be a big girl now, though typical Princess that she is, she has wanted everything her own way, just a normal day in her life. We have had a great time though playing football, Kia visited her favourite salon and had a lovely pamper session ( at home and by me!!!!), then a nice lazy afternoon lying in the garden chewing the grass. I have mentioned before that Kia does not believe she is a dog. We have decided she is a new species, a DOMAN, part dog part human. Kia is one of a kind.
My girl has turned 5
Another highlight this week was the first book signing for Huskyville Winter Olympics, I got a good turn out and the book was well received, I loved chatting with my readers and getting their thoughts on my work. July and August will be busy months as I’m back on my home turf in Scotland. I’m looking forward to visiting the children hospices again, and this year I’m introducing a birthday party/activity package. If you’ve been reading my blog you will have seen the competition I’m running offering a free party PARTY TIME.
I thought to myself what can I do to relax? Over the past few nights we have heard a banging noise coming from next door. I took a wander around to our new neighbours to find that they have adopted two new friends, Hagel and Mica the donkeys. Now, I have never been comfortable around horses, but these two have such character and are so friendly I have become a daily visitor. I have found out something about the equine species as well, how many of us have given carrots, apples or mints to horses and donkeys? I know I have, but I was told the other day that this act of kindness is slowly poisoning the animals, too much sugar gives them swollen, painful ankles. It’s not true for them that an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Hagel and Mica
A mixed bunch tonight but it is as varied as my week has been. Hope you enjoyed.

Today, I thought I’d join the very worthy cause of promoting the plight of the Nigerian girls abducted from their school. These young girls have been taken from what their parents thought was a safe environment and are now being shipped to foreign shores to be sold into the sex business. This important news gets masked behind footballers losing their jobs, young Prince’s fun-filled holidays in the sun or other mundane nonsense.
While I understand that it is probably not what you want to hear about while eating your corn flakes in the morning, take a moment to think, what if it was your child? I’m sure you would do everything in your power to bring them home safely.
This is not an isolated incident, there are children abducted on a daily basis, we try to ignore what is happening, it’s not our daughters, but it is someones daughter or son, this evil trade does not discriminate, boys are sold into the sex industry too.
Please share this post, contact your local government to petition them to get on board in a worldwide campaign to help find these children and put a stop to human trafficking.
To do nothing allows these monsters to continue, every voice that says NO makes the fight against them stronger.
